Snowstorm of lesser intensity expected Tuesday

Updated: Feb 12

A day of wild trends is coming to an end, final verdict, much less snow and less disruption to everyday life..

Timeline -

3-5am - light rain and snow develop from southwest to north east

5-7am - snow starts to pick up in intensity with a few inches of slush accumulating especially in the south ct hills.

7am-1pm - periods of moderate snow with a few inches of accumulation for most, heavier banding may yield up to 6" of snow.

1pm-3pm - snow ends from west to east and the "clean up" begins. Isolated power outages are possible.

Hazards - slick travel under heaviest banding (not widespread) - isolated power outages

Accumulations

  • A general 1-3 north of 84 and 3-6 south of 84. Most see around 3" or so south unless the heavier banding sets up over your location, those locations may see upwards of 6".

  • Any deviation in the storm track to the south would cut down on accumulations..

  • Any deviation in the storm track to the north would increase accumulations.
